YAMAHA SPORT BOATS

Lead a creative team to produce unique performance, sport, and luxury based concepts for Yamaha Sport Boats. Stylistically, all three boat platforms are unique and cater to a specific segmentation. Multiple gelcoat color ways, distinctive graphics, sophisticated helms, and upholstery offer a wide variety of elements to expand and attract specific targets.

The new 242 Limited body shape called for a new stylistic approach as well. The flagship model's elegant, sophisticated styling was labeled as "soft luxury" during our development, a style category that previous did not exist amongst Yamaha sport boats.

Bridging the gap between affordable and luxury, the SX240 demanded a variety of styling details that we executed on high-end luxury boats with the functionality of our family friendly entry level models. This combination created an elevated version of the classic YAMAHA jet powered boat for those who wanted the look of luxury with the features of a traditional runabout.

Yamaha’s first true wake sport boat combines competition ready functionality with impactful, trendy styling. Inside and out, details were key to elevating this model above previous Yamaha attempts at a wake specific model. With additional interior upgrades, innovative helm controls, bold gelcoat combinations, and progressive graphics the 242X reached a new pinnacle for our entire team.

The 19-foot long 190 FSH is the first Yamaha jet boat to have a center console, which is a common thread among most saltwater fishing boat designs and gives anglers a platform that’s fishable in all of its 360 degrees. Allowing this family-sport-hybrid (FSH) to be highly functional while stylish was a challenge. The deck needed to remain clear and open for maneuverability while minimal stylistic decorations created an environment that would be easy to clean after a long day out on the water. The color combinations we selected for the interiors and exteriors were familiar to the audience and helped reflect the lake and saltwater fishing cultures.

Yamaha’s 212X takes high performance boating beyond conventional boundaries with its quick-revving acceleration and versatile wakesports abilities. Driven by a pair of 1.8 liter High Output Yamaha marine engines, this performance machine rockets from 0-to-30 MPH in under 4 seconds. When towing, the 212X offers exceptional handling and quick acceleration when powering through turns. Two 50-gallon internal ballast tanks give you the ability to adjust the wake with the simple touch of a button. The folding tower features built-in racks for quick board access. With seating for nine and plenty of gear storage, the stylish 212X is raring to go.

The AR240 High Output offers the most dynamic performance package on the water. Twin 1.8 liter High Output Yamaha marine engines deliver reliable and robust acceleration, while leading the industry in fuel efficiency. The spacious cockpit features upgrades not found on ordinary 24-footers, including a convertible lounger and oversized in-floor storage locker. The folding aluminum tower and roomy bi-level swim platform provide the perfect combination for launching wakesports activities. Yamaha’s AR240 High Output is the first choice for serious watersports families seeking big fun.
