LIFE IS GOOD EYEWEAR
For five years, Bert and John Jacobs drove up and down the East Coast, selling their t-shirt designs on the streets and in college dorms. They slept in their van, lived on peanut butter and jelly, and showered when they could. Then in 1994, with just $78 to their names, they designed their first Life is Good t-shirt to counter the negative news - and discovered how those three simple words could help people to focus on the good.
As a brand known for promoting a lifestyle of optimism, Life is Good is known for helping people stay positive and spread that joy. With eyewear, they help people do that through a whole new lens. Life is Good is a widely recognizable brand with something to offer the whole family.

Do what you love, love what you do. Who could argue with that? The inaugural Life is Good Eyewear collection was all about loving life.
We grabbed some happy faces and explored that notion; loving life. Running around from the outskirts of Athens, Georgia to the hills of Vermont, we photographed more love and good vibes than we ever expected. This selection of images highlights our favorite moments from those first few campaigns. We were looking for great, authentic, fun-loving images that represented the eyewear as well as the iconic Life is Good brand.
The Life is Good Eyewear line has premium hand-designed styles for men, women, teens, and kids. Offered at an attainable price point for managed care/insurance coverage the Life is Good eyewear selection is a must-have for the active family. It was important for their campaigns to feel approachable, not pretentious and have a “family next-door,” vibe.
Creating point-of-purchase materials for Life is Good is always a blast. Starting out with fun model imagery and Life is Good’s signature illustrations, we’ve created everything from custom posters to fixtures to counter top displays to a modular house of cards. Ultimately, we want to capture the attention of the consumer and hold that attention as long as possible. Through this engagement we are able to leave an impression and build curiosity about the brand and eyewear.
Drawing inspiration from nature, we employed natural light & organic textures that are both approachable and optimistic. We chose to photograph our talent in a variety of locations ranging from cozy state park landmarks to hidden off-trail gems to give us a wide variety of location settings.
C’mon who doesn’t enjoy some fresh popcorn, ridiculously fast rides, and nearly impossible to win games? Oh let’s not forget all the laughs and good vibes. The bright color palette of the amusement park embodied the spring season, helped compliment the eyewear and apparel, and captured the true spirit of Life is Good: positivity, excitement, and family fun.
